My life as an 8th grader.

Published / by Jim

Was at Christmas party with my best friend Laura and her family.

She’s the real mom, I’ll tell you what… Runs a maid service in Virginia Beach all by herself while raising 3 kids and taking care of her i’ll parents.

She’s my true inspiration, even though I’m a dude.

This post is something, Jessica (her 13 year old) told me about her life as an 8th grader. It’s incredible!

Please read and let me know what you think, I’ll definitely pass it on to Jess. i promised her I’ll post her story!

Here it goes:

Currently, I’m in the 8th grade and striving every single day for good grades. At this point in my life, I’m taking advantage of the education opportunity that I have. In the future, I plan on going to college. I want to graduate with an advanced high school diploma, and hopefully end up being accepted into one of the major colleges in the United States.

I want to play soccer professionally. In order to play any sport professionally, you need to be able to get excellent grades. That is of course, if you are someone like me, who is going for a sports scholarship. This applies specifically to those who want to go to a division one college.

Getting into a division one soccer team, is a very difficult thing to accomplish. I believe however, that can do it. After playing college soccer, I hope to get awards such as: rookie player of the year. Perhaps, I will even be able to surpass some of the school’s soccer records.

My main motivation for soccer, arises from my family. I want to be able to give back to them one day and somehow, repay all of those who truly believed in me. Everyone who help my my childhood dreams come true, and everyone who supported my decisions and person goals.

During college, I hope to get signed on into to a professionally soccer league. Maybe Major League soccer, or Barclays Premier League. Once a player gets signed on, he begins earning money for playing. Although this currently sounds like a very big dream and seems very far away, it will someday become a reality. Most people are unaware of the hard work and effort that it takes to accomplish the aforementioned. It’s absolutely insane! While many people aspire to become a part of a professional team, not many can accomplish that.

I always grew up being told that you can do anything you want to do, as long as you put your mind to it. I believe, if I put my mind and hard effort into this, I have just as much chance as every other aspirant.

Once I begin earning money as a soccer player, I intend on purchasing a car for my father, and buying him a house in his home country, Panama. I will provide my mom a house in a place of her choice, and help them both each month with their expenses.

My plan B is completing school in an accredited university. My education will help me acquire a decent job should everything else fail. I will figure out how to get back on track and keep going from there. I believe education is important. Here in the United States everything is based off education. With education you will be able to live the American dream, or so they say. You will not have to struggle to pay the bills, or to provide for your children.

While I plan on getting married someday, and having children of my own, I don’t intend on doing that until I am in my thirties. I want to take time to make big decisions such as those. In the end, I truly hope that everything works out for the best. I hope that my struggles in life are minimal, and that my hard work pays off. I will always work my hardest and continue to cherish my parents, which are my motivation to continue to be better and succeed in life.
